It was somewhat of a busy week here at the NLSC as we launched our new Downloads section, which has cleaned out broken links and now allows easier submissions from the community. There were also new screenshots for both NBA 2K12 and NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, along with the first Developer Insight for NBA 2K12. JaoSming also released a couple of mods for NBA 2K11, I posted a feature article speculating on the secret player in NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and we continued our Wishlist initiatives. Updates to Forum Anti-Spam Measures |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Thursday, August 11 2011, 10:30 pm
In an effort to curb spambots in the NLSC Forum, we've made a couple of changes to our anti-spam measures. We hope this method will be as unobtrusive to new registrations as possible, while preventing spammers from signing up. Unfortunately this will not block spambots that have signed up before these measures were put in place, but we will deal with them as they reveal themselves.
To prevent spambots from uploading junk to our new Downloads section, we are also now using the Newly registered users feature in phpBB3. All new accounts registered from now on will be automatically placed in the Newly registered users group, until the account has five posts. There are currently no restrictions on posting or profile options but newly registered users will not be able to upload any files to the database. If you encounter any difficulties or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. |

New Downloads section; Upload your files! |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Thursday, August 11 2011, 12:08 pm
We have officially launched our new Downloads section, which is completely integrated with the NLSC Forum. The move has allowed us to get rid of our old submission form, as anyone with a Forum account can upload and submit files for inclusion in the database, pending approval. It has also allowed us to weed out the many broken links that were present in our old database. As time goes by, we will be exploring ways to allow frequent contributors to immediately approve their own files, so stay tuned for more info on that.
This is the first of several improvements to the NLSC that we plan on rolling out in the very near future. For more information on the new Downloads section, please read on or see this thread. |

A note about file additions |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Sunday, July 31 2011, 10:59 am
You may have noticed a lack of file additions here at the NLSC over the past couple of weeks. This is because we are transferring files to our new Downloads section that is integrated with the NLSC Forum and as such, we've put a temporary freeze on adding new files to the database. We hope to have the new Downloads section up and running very soon, at which point we'll begin adding files again. Best of all, the new section will allow the many contributors in the community to upload and submit their files for approval and immediate addition to the database. Stay tuned for more information, we've also got some other great stuff lined up that we hope to roll out in the near future. |

Wiki: Forum Resource Lists |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Friday, July 29 2011, 1:17 am
As you may or may not know, our various resources for NBA Live and NBA 2K are currently divided between our Wiki and the Forum. This has led to some confusion and difficulty in finding specific resources, as has the fact that some tutorials were written for one game but are still applicable to other games in the series. As such, I've compiled some lists of Forum resources in the Wiki to help you find what you're looking for. You can also find the main Tutorials section in the Wiki here. |

New Poll: Favourite Mods |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Thursday, July 21 2011, 12:56 am
We have a new main page poll which asks "What are your favourite kind of mods for NBA Live/NBA 2K?" Cast your vote now and don't forget to check out the NLSC Forum for the latest releases from the modding communities for NBA Live and NBA 2K.
Our previous poll asked "How would you rate the 2010/2011 NBA season?" It seems most people quite enjoyed last season with 48% rating it as being excellent and a further 28% deeming it to be good. 13% felt the 2011 season was only average while 5% said it wasn't great and a final 6% disliked it enough to deem it terrible. Here's hoping the lockout will be resolved soon and the 2012 season can get underway in time! |
